By now, you have narrowed your topic, done a bunch of research, and explored the organizational framework of stories. Congratulations! It is almost time to start writing. There is one more resource for you to create first. In this activity, you will use the website, Wordle, to brainstorm a little more about your topic before you begin writing. Your task is to create a word cloud of adjectives and important vocabulary you would like to use in your story.
  1. Go to the site using the link above.
  2. Click Create your own.
  3. Brainstorm adjectives and vocabulary words that fit your story topic, and type the words in the box. (Note: If you type a word more than once, it will make it appear in bigger font. You might want to make important words stand out this way.)
  4. Click Go.
  5. Play with font, layout, and color until you are happy with how your word cloud looks.
  6. Use the "Print Screen" button to copy your word cloud; open a word document; and paste your word cloud into it by hitting CTRL V; save the word document; and print it.
